BedPosts is changing - A note from the webmasters

The world has been changing in the last few years:

  • Half of the users of our websites now view them with a tablet or mobile phone
  • The increasing number of BedPosts services requires new navigation
  • Advertising will be fully split off onto BedPosts.uk from BedPosts.org.uk by mid-October
  • The birth of the BedPosts Business Club has brought extra complexities
  • The development of BedPosts Facebook & Twitter
  • New methods of recruitment to BedPosts required following saturation of direct Internet marketing

In response to above, these are the major changes to BedPosts coming soon:

New website for BedPosts.org.uk This website will continue to serve both the Community of Independent Accommodation Providers and the BedPosts Business Club.

  • The new website will be of responsive design meaning that it will resize itself to suit the size of the screen of the device using it e.g. desktop, tablet or mobile.
  • The Forum software will also have to be made responsive
  • It will be vastly simplified with easy navigation on this new (currently re-directed) page: BedPosts.org.uk
  • Feeds from BedPosts Facebook & BedPosts Twitter

BedPosts Business Club

We understand the club is now on a sound financial footing and its committee is taking the club forward. Beginning in mid-October the Club will be advertising its services (in the new Luxury B&B Magazine) to those who do not currently belong to BedPosts. This action will bring fresh blood not only to the Club but also to the Community on the free Forum boards.

Advertising on BedPosts.uk

The growth in the number of Forum members taking advantage of the free advertising opportunity on BedPosts.uk has stalled despite the recent newsletter on the subject. This has left scores of town pages devoid of BedPosts members adverts at the top. The webmasters have therefore decided to make advertising a Club function in order to enliven this aspect of BedPosts. This is how the changeover will operate:

  • Existing advertisers on 14th October 2015 can continue to advertise, together with use of THOR availability calendar, without belonging to the Club
  • Forum members, not currently advertising and who wish to advertise without joining the Club, must open an advertising account via the red Control Panel at the top of the Forum pages before 14th October 2015. This takes just a couple of minutes.
  • All dormant advertising accounts (those not associated with a live advertisement) will be deleted on 31st December 2015. It's easy to create an advertisement and set it live (an hour or two) - all the tools are within the Control Panel. There is extensive help text and Bedposts webmasters are on hand to assist.
