Business sitters

This scheme for use by both free-to-join and business Club members is not yet available

Background

Owners of independent serviced accommodation have to take a holiday sometime. There is an alternative to closing the business for the entire period and losing future bookings too. Employ a business sitter.

Unlike business home swaps, where plans will be made and details swapped in readiness, business sitters might be needed at short notice at times of emergency, for example when an accommodation provider is rushed to hospital when guests are present.

Swapping with another member at short notice would not be possible as other members would be tied up with their own businesses. On these occasions an experienced business sitter prepared to stand in at short notice could save the day.

Qualified sitters needed

A database of suitably trained business sitters is being compiled: if you are a business sitter with appropriate insurance, and you would like to be included on the BedPosts database in readiness for the launch of this scheme, please send your C.V. by email to the Chair of BedPosts - roy.mcgregor@bedposts.org.uk.

If you are a retired accommodation provider and think that you might like to become a business sitter, when this scheme is launched, BedPosts may be able to provide some guidance on how to proceed, or put you in touch with experienced sitters for more information.
