During 2011 Q2 £83.5 billion was spent in 1.8 billion debit card transactions, and £33.1 billion was spent in 0.5 billion credit card transactions. Debit cards accounted for 78% of all purchases, a figure that has grown by three percentage points over the past two years. In retailing, plastic cards accounted for 68% of the value of purchases during the quarter, an increase of 1.4 percentage points compared with 2010 Q2.

Terms & Conditions

The rates on the previous slide are available subject to the following terms. If any of these are not met then the terms supplied will be by individual negotiation:

1. Cardholder Not Present transactions are less than 30% of total Card turnover.
2. Business/Commercial/Premium credit and business debit card transactions are charged at 1.81%.
3. E-Commerce or Internet transactions will usually be subject to a higher rate and all enquiries for this type of facility will be subject to individual negotiation. Accept Cards can also assist with recommendations for Payment Service Provides for all e-commerce facilities.

In our capacity as industry experts and consultants Accept Cards are always available for advice, and to assist Member queries on any aspect of card processing.

4. A Business Bank account is required for all Merchant Card processing facilities.
5. Terminal rental solutions available at preferential terms as follows:

2. Portable from £17.75 + VAT
3. GPRS Mobile from £19.75 + VAT
6. FREE Authorisation Calls available.
7. No Joining Fees for BedPosts Members already accepting Cards and £25 only for those who are New to Cards.
8. All accounts will be set up subject to the credit and risk requirements of each Acquiring bank. Accept Cards Ltd and BedPosts are not liable in any way for any delays, disputes or refusal by an acquiring bank to set up a merchant card processing account.
9. These terms are subject to alteration at any time if the Banks alter their terms of service.
